The notice a landlord serves before filing for unpaid rent.
The month or period the rent was for.
In Texas, the 3-day notice to vacate gives the tenant 3 days. The statute does not give the tenant a right to stop the eviction by paying.
Tex. Prop. Code §§ 24.005(a), 24.0042: Unless a written lease sets a shorter or longer period. For suits filed from January 1, 2026, a tenant who was not late before that month must get a notice to pay rent or vacate, while a tenant with earlier late payments may get a plain notice to vacate. A period ending on a weekend or holiday runs to the next business day.
Every field is optional; a blank one prints as a line to write on. The notice is in English, as it is served in the US.

The questions that follow.
Is the Texas {days} day notice to vacate an eviction notice?
Yes. In Texas the notice a landlord serves before filing for unpaid rent is the 3-day notice to vacate (Tex. Prop. Code §§ 24.005(a), 24.0042), and the template writes it when you choose unpaid rent.
What goes in a {abbr} eviction notice template?
The name Texas law gives it (3-day notice to vacate), the tenants and the premises, the rent owed or the breach, the days the tenant has and how they are counted, the statute, your signature and a proof of service. The generator above puts each of them in.
Is there a free {state} eviction notice template?
Yes, this one: fill it in above and download it in Word or PDF. Nothing is stored and nothing is sent; it is built in your browser.
When does a {days}-day eviction notice {state} landlords serve run out?
Count 3 days from the day after it is delivered: delivered on November 1, 2026, it runs out at the end of November 4, 2026. Any extra days Texas adds for mailing are in the statute’s note on this page.
Can I download a {days} day eviction notice {state} template as a PDF?
Yes. Choose PDF or Word above; the 3 days, the way they are counted and Tex. Prop. Code §§ 24.005(a), 24.0042 are already in it.
Can the tenant stop the eviction by paying?
Not as of right: the Texas statute gives the tenant no right to stop it by paying. You may still accept the rent, though accepting it may affect the case.
How do I serve an eviction notice in {state}?
Texas statute names these ways (Tex. Prop. Code § 24.005(f-3), (f-4)): mail, including first class, registered or certified mail or a delivery service; delivery to the inside of the premises in a conspicuous place; hand delivery to any tenant aged 16 or older; email or other electronic means if the parties agreed in writing.
What happens after the notice runs out?
If the tenant is still there, you file a eviction suit (forcible detainer) in the justice court. Our guide to the Texas eviction process walks through each step.
Can I change the locks instead?
No statute could be confirmed on this, but a landlord who removes a tenant without a court order risks liability. File in court instead.
Not legal adviceThis notice is filled in from Texas statutes as read on November 1, 2026. A city or county can add requirements, a lease can give more time, and only a court decides whether a notice was valid. For a contested eviction, speak to a lawyer licensed in Texas.
